I’ve got myself in a style rut, one made of denim and it is time I got out of it.
If you’re anything like me you’ll find that it is all too easy to slip into a style rut, grabbing the familiar combinations from your wardrobe on the days when you don’t want to think about what you’re wearing.
Since I began spending more time on Instragram, sharing my workday outfits and being inspired by so many stylish women (more on them in another post) I realised that while I was sharp as a pin on my 3 work days a week, the remaining four were all made of jeans. And as much as I love jeans, I really really do, I felt that perhaps it was time to make a bit more of an effort for myself and my non- worky work day style.
So I give you the Denim Detox Challenge. I couldn’t go jean cold turkey – there will always be days when the perfect outfit is a pair of jeans, but for the other 3 days of my sartorially challenged week I have to find something other than blue jeans to wear. Or black jeans, or those really cool russet coloured jeans I got for £2 in the charity shop.
You get the idea.
Wish me luck and join in if you’re in need of de-deniming, or follow along with my progress on Instagram with the hashtags #denimdetox and #1dayofdenim
I’ve made a Denim Detox Pinterest board where I’ll be pinning casual skirts, trousers and dresses to inspire me.
